Rodgers kept faith with the side that beat Aston Villa last weekend, which means that January signing Daniel Sturridge has once again been named on the bench, with Luis Suarez leading the attack.

Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing and Philippe Coutinho all start.

Liverpool are sitting seventh on 48 points in the Premier League standings and win today would put them level on point with sixth place Everton, which will be in action against Spurs in a later kick-off.

The Reds continue to be without midfielder Joe Allen, forward Fabio Borini and defender Martin Kelly who are all still injured.

Meanwhile, forward Andy Carroll will not be available for West Ham United as he is ineligible to face parent club Liverpool.

Carlton Cole is the man trusted in the attack today with on loan Arsenal frontman Marouane Chamakh on the substitutes’ bench.

West Ham are 12th in the standings with 36pts, but a win would move them up to join 10th place Fulham.
