Arsenal have two points from its opening two games, which ended in 0-0 draws, while Liverpool have one point, following its 2-2 draw with champions Manchester City last week.

โ€œIt would be a huge statement of intent to win there,” said Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson.

Liverpool are a big club but we are just focused on our own game, and hopefully we will execute as we need to and get the three points.โ€

Meanwhile, Nuri Sahin has been handed a starting place for Liverpool for this afternoon’s clash.

The midfielder is on loan from Real Madrid and is hoping to make an immediate impression for Brendon Rodgers’ side. Sahin will play in midfield with Joe Allen and captain Steven Gerrard.

Raheem Sterling is also in the starting line-up and he plays alongside Fabio Borini and Luis Suarez after his impressive showing against Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will start for Arsenal today after coming off the bench in the last game.

The England international replaces Gervinho, who hasn’t been as productive as the boss wants him to be.

That was the only change to the Arsenal side that drew 0-0 with Stoke last week.

It means that new boys Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud will start in attack once again, while Theo Walcott remains on the bench, alongside Laurent Koscielny, who has returned from injury.
