LIVERPOOL (Sporting Alert) – Liverpool Football Club has completed the signing of England striker Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea on Wednesday.
Sturridge completed his medical over the weekend and has now ended a three and a half year stint at Chelsea.
The 23-year-old has become Liverpool’s first capture of the new January transfer window and he’s looking forward to have a long stint with the club.
“I am humbled and happy to be here,” Sturridge to LiverpoolFC official website at www.liverpoolfc.com.
“Brendan Rodgers said he sees me here for a long time – and I also see myself here for a long time. I’ve not signed here to play for a couple of years and then move on.
“I’ve signed to be here for as long as possible.
“It’s a humongous club – for me, one of the biggest in the world – and to have the fans and world-class players we have here is amazing.”
Sturridge will not be available for Liverpool’s game with Sunderland today, but will be at Anfield watching.
