LIVERPOOL (Sporting Alert) — Liverpool will be delighted to have striker Daniel Sturridge available for Sunday’s English Barclays Premier League clash against Swansea at Anfield.
Sturridge and midfielder Philippe Coutinho, who were both ineligible for Thursday’s Europa League defeat at Zenit St Petersburg, returned to the squad for the domestic league clash.
Sturridge has also been nursing a thigh problem he picked up during the 2-2 draw with Manchester City, but Reds manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed that the England international is fit to play.
It is still uncertain as to whether he will start or not.
Liverpool were beaten 2-0 by West Bromwich in their English Premier League outing last Monday.
Swansea City in the meantime, will be without defender Chico Flores, who missed out after picking up an ankle ligament problem against QPR.
Midfielder Leon Britton is set to return from an ankle injury.
These two teams played to a 0-0 draw in their last Premier League meeting this season, but Swansea picked up a 3-1 in the Capital One Cup.
