(Sporting Alert) — LSU will look to keep its chances of reaching the SEC championship game and stay in line to play in the BCS game with a win over a struggling Arkansas on Friday.
The No. 7 ranked Tigers (9-2, 5-2) chances of making another BCS game came back to life last weekend when two previously undefeated teams, Kansas State and Oregon both suffered shocking losses on the same day.
Although their chances are still very slim and a few very strong teams still ahead of them, including Georgia and Florida, LSU remains determined to see out the remaining fixtures with a positive attitude, starting with the Razorbacks, who are 4-7 on the season and 2-5 in conference games.
“There are no goals yet removed,” coach Les Miles said. “We’re looking forward to playing it out
“There are spots to achieve for us.”
On the schedule on Friday is the clash between improving Nebraska, who are on the verge of making its first Big Ten championship game and Iowa, a team they are backed to beat very comfortably.
No. 25 Washington will face Washington State, while No. 24 Arizona will take on Arizona State.
