LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United have moved closer to capturing Brazilian rated-winger Lucas Moura, according to news media reports on Sunday.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with chasing the Moura all summer and even had a first time bid rejected by his club Sao Paulo.
But Sky Sports are now reporting that a fee for the 19-year-old has been accepted between Manchester United Sao Paulo and the Red Devils are now poised to win the race to land the £30 million rated winger.
Ferguson remained back in Manchester instead of travelling with the United squad for the preseason friendly game against Valerenga and it is believed the experienced manager wants to workout the final paperwork for the Brazilian star.
Moura is currently in England where he is with Brazil’s U23 squad at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
He is expected to be on show when Brazil play South Korea in the semi-finals on Tuesday.
Moura has been regarded as one of the finest young talents to emerge from Brazil in recent years, which has resulted in him getting interests from several European sides other than United, such as Real Madrid and Inter Milan.
