Luka Modric remains focus on playing for Croatia

WARKA, Poland (Sporting Alert) — Tottenham’s Luka Modric remains tightlipped about his future at the club, following reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

Several reports in Britain have claimed that representatives for the Croatian international have been in discussion with the Red Devils and an agreement has been made to have him move to Old Trafford in the summer.

Modric is currently with the national team at the 2012 Euro Championships where he helped the team cruised past the Republic of Ireland 3-1 on Sunday.

He was pressed to comment about the reports on him leaving Tottenham, but the super star remains focus on playing for Croatia and wasn’t looking past the tournament at the moment.

“Of course it is very important. When I am playing for Croatia it is always different to playing for a club because it is a bigger responsibility on us,” Modric said.

“The Croatian people are expecting and expectations are high from us, and thankfully we played a great game.

“We fulfilled their expectation and we are extremely happy that we won, and now we have to prepare well for Thursday for Italy.”

Modric will next take on Italy at Poznan Municipal Stadium.

Croatia lead Group C with three points after one set of games.
