Manchester City vs Manchester United Derby To Bring Excitement

MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Manchester City will start favourite to win the Manchester derby against arch rivals United on Sunday, although both sides have failed to impress in recent outings.

The Manchester United vs Manchester City game will be live on Fox Soccer 2Go starting at 8:30 AM ET.

Manchester United enter the derby three points ahead of City, but many are backing Roberto Mancini’s team to beat the Red Devils at the Etihad Stadium and return to the top of the league.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side has been struggling to keep clean sheets recently and his backline will again be tested by a very powerful Manchester City frontline that will include Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli.

The defending champions did the double over their rivals last year and netted seven goals in the two Premier League clashes, including a 6-1 thumping of the then champions at Old Trafford.

Manchester City are yet to lose a game in the Barclays Premier League this season and Mancini says his team is ready to step-up the intensity to make sure that record stays intact.

The two opposing managers have been hitting the headlines all week in the buildup to the derby, with Ferguson reminding Mancini that his Manchester United side has already knocked off the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea this season.

Meanwhile, Spanish playmaker David Silva remains doubtful for the Sunday’s game because of a hamstring injury. The game may also come too soon for defender Gael Clichy (ankle) and midfielder James Milner (hamstring).

Manchester United will be without wingers Antonio Valencia (hip) and Nani (hamstring), but playmaker Shinji Kagawa could be on the bench, while captain Nemanja Vidic is a late decision.
