Manchester City make three changes to the starting side that beat Marseille 3-0 in the Champions League in midweek.

Joao Cancelo, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo are all recalled by Pep Guardiola for this encounter, with Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan and Oleks Zinchenko making way. The trio are available from the bench, though.

Center back Nathan Ake returns to the squad and is on the bench, alongside John Stones and Eric Garcia.

Meanwhile, Chris Wilder makes one adjustment from the side that lost to Liverpool last weekend. In comes Max Lowe and John Lundstram drops to the bench.

Sheffield United come into this game winless in their last six league meetings with Manchester City – drawing two and losing four. The Blades have also failed to score in any of the last four with their last victory against the Citizens coming in the second tier in January 2000 (1-0).

Manchester City were held 1-1 by West Ham United in their last English Premier League game.
