MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United are set to sign Radamel Falcao from Monaco in a sensational swoop on English football’s transfer deadline day.
Falcao, who was linked with several European clubs, including Champions League winners Real Madrid, as well as Manchester City and Arsenal, has apparently decided on joining Manchester United on a season long loan.
According to Sky Sports News, the Colombian forward will make the switch to Old Trafford on a £6 million move, where he is set to collect £200, 000 a-week on wages.
It is understood that there are fears over a “niggling injuries to Robin van Persie” and manager Louis van Gaal is hoping to bring in a world-class cover.
A deal for Falcao, which is now subject to a medical, will see him joining Angel di Maria, Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Daley Blind, and Marcos Rojo.
The proposed move to Old Trafford has come as a massive surprised to many, given that with Manchester United are not playing in the Champions League.
However, Falcao, reports claimed, has been enticed by the project at Old Trafford despite their lack of European football.
