MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United, winners of four of their last five Barclays Premier League games, will look keep the narrow lead in the table standings with a win over West Ham United at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
Sir Alex Ferguson men have made it a habit of falling behind early in games – something the boss said needs to stop happening if they are to win back the title from Manchester City at the end of this season.
Michael Carrick will return to the starting line-up for the Red Devils after sitting out the win over QPR over the weekend, while Anderson, following his impressive performance as a substitute during that game – could win a starting place.
Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie will start again in the attack, with Javier Hernandez expected to come off the bench once again.
Ecuador winger Antonio Valencia could return from a hip injury after returning to training this week.
However, Paul Scholes is suspended and will miss the game.
Out too are the injured Nani, Nemanja Vidić and Shinji Kagawa.
