MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Roberto Mancini and Paul Lambert got into a heated discussion as Aston Villa dumped Manchester City from the Capital One League Cup on Tuesday.

There were also wins for Chelsea and Sunderland, while Everton were knocked out of the tournament by Leeds United.
At the Etihad Stadium, Aston Villa twice came from behind to beat Manchester City 4-2 in extra time.
Mario Balotelli opened the scoring for hosts Manchester City after he was left unmarked and slot home past Shay Given in the 27th minute.
But an own goal by Gareth Barry pulled the team level once again after 59 minutes.
Aleksandar Kolarov scored from a free-kick to give Manchester City the lead again before Gabriel Agbonlahor netted six-minutes later in the 70th minute to send the game into extra-time.
Charles N´Zogbia and Agbonlahor, from a huge deflection saw Aston Villa through to the fourth round.
Mancini and Lambert had to be separated, following a poor challenge from Barry on Joe Bennett.
Meanwhile, Chelsea hammered Wolves 6-0, with Fernando Torres, Victor Moses and Oriol Romeu amongst the scorers.
Ten-man Sunderland beat MK Dons 2-0, Swansea City got a later winner from Garry Monk in their 3-2 victory over Crawley Town, while Wigan thrashed West Ham United 4-1.
Premier League side Everton was defeated 2-1 by Leeds.
