Defending champion Villanova begins the NCAA Tournament – March Madness – as the No. 1 overall seed this year.

Meanwhile, it was a breakthrough year for Northwestern, which makes its first appearance to the dance in program history.

Elsewhere, Florida-based programs, Florida State, Florida, Miami and Florida Gulf Coast are among the teams set to feature at March Madness 2017.

There was no slot, however, for the Syracuse Orange, who were snubbed by the selection committee.
