MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Lionel Messi leads the La Liga in scoring, following his blistering goalscoring form last month.

The Barcelona forward has 13 goals in the league so far this season and he leads the arch rival Cristiano Ronaldo by two.

Real Madrid winger Ronaldo has 11 goals, while Radamel Falcao of Atletico Madrid, a target of several top European clubs in Spain and England, has 10 goals in the league thus far.

Aduriz of Athletic Bilbao has eight, Gonzalo Higuain (Real Madrid) has seven, Tomer Hemed (Real Mallorca) and Alvaro Negredo (Sevilla) have six and David Villa (Barcelona) and Oscar (Real Valladolid) both have five.
