Messi v Ronaldo: International Football Friendlies on Nov. 18

OLD TRAFFORD (Sporting Alert) — The following is a list of international football games that is on the schedule for Tuesday, November 18.

Amongst the highlighted clashes on Tuesday are the Argentina against Portugal and the Spain against Germany exhibitions.

At Old Trafford, former Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo will lead Portugal in a high-profiled game with beaten World Cup finalists Argentina, with a certain Lionel Messi set to lead the La Selección.

The game will also see another former Man United player, forward Carlos Tevez, who now plays for Juventus — returning to play at Old Trafford for the first time since leaving the Red Devils’ arch rivals Manchester City.

Another game expected to draw a pack audience is the clash between reigning World Cup champions Germany and Spain, who went into this past summer’s tournament as the defending champions before being knock-out in the group stages.

Both set of players are looking forward to featuring in the world-class friendly, with Germany forward Mario Gotze, who netted the winner at the World Cup in Brazil commenting: “I think it’s great that to end this amazing year, we have such a highlight with the national team.

“With a good game against Spain, we can bring a worthy conclusion to the year in which we became world champions.

“We’re up against a really top side, against a team who have dominated world football in recent years.

“To be able to measure ourselves at this level and prove ourselves is always amazing. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Carlos Vela is expected to start again for Mexico when they take on Belarus. Vela made an impressive return to the national setup with a two goal performance in the victory over the Netherlands last week.

On the schedule too, Neymar will lead Brazil against Austria, Scotland will entertain England in what is expected to be tough for the Three Lions, while France and Sweden will do battle.
