Miami Heat held to just 15 points in 1st quarter, trail Chicago Bulls 21-15 after 12-minutes

MIAMI (Sporting Alert) — The Miami Heat were held to just 15 points in the first quarter as they trail the Chicago Bulls 21-15 at the end of the first 12-minutes of play in Game 1 of their second round clash at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Miami’s 15 points in the opening stanza was the team’s lowest in a quarter for the entire season.

The defending champions are just 26.3 percent in the quarter on 5-of-19 with LeBron James going just 1-for-3 for two points.

As a team the Heat shot 1-of-7 from three-point range.

The Chicago Bulls have been forcing Miami to work for their buckets, but coach Tom Thibodeau hopes his team can do it for the entire game.

“They (Heat) got some good looks that they missed, some looks that we challenged, but the goal is to (make them work) for the 48-minutes,” Thibodeau said.

The Bulls shot 47.1 percent in the first quarter on 8-for-17 from the field.

They missed all four attempts from three point range though.
