Sporting Alert — Malcom Floyd and Antonio Gates are both active for the San Diego Chargers for tonight’s Monday Night Football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Antonio Gates returns from his suspension on a high, after he became only the ninth player in NFL history to caught 100 TD passes and the Chargers are off and running, and Philip Rivers makes the pass. Gates is also the only tight end with 100 TD receptions

Wide receiver Floyd (head) has suited up and is expected to play a big part in the game with Stevie Johnson listed as inactive for the contest at Qualcomm Stadium.

Meanwhile, tight end Gates will make his 2015 NFL debut after his PED violation, and he too could have a big say in tonight’s game against the Steelers.

However, wide receiver Steve Johnson is listed as inactive after failing to recover from a hamstring problem, which opens the door for Gates to slot into his position.

Meanwhile, receiver Martavis Bryant is among the players listed as inactive for the Steelers. Bryant, who had been out for serving a four-game suspension, following an NFL substance abuse violation, is not active

Also on the inactive list are quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, cornerback Cortez Allen and tight end Jesse James.

The Steelers (2-2) come into this game with a 21-7 advantage in all-time head-to-head battles with the Chargers in regular-season.

Pittsburgh will be making its first trip to San Diego since 2006.
