
LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Juan Mata will have a medical at Manchester United ahead of his proposed move from Stamford Bridge in this transfer window.
The have been several reports that the deal to send Juan Mata to Old Trafford on a £37 million fee will be completed before this weekend, and Mourinho confirmed.
“Sooner rather than later things will be finalised,” Mourinho revealed, adding that the Spanish international was allowed to travel to Manchester for a medical.
“We allowed Juan Mata to travel and have a medical at Manchester United,” he said.
“It’s a good move for Juan, it’s good for the Premier League, and the offer is the right offer. He is a fantastic player.
“In spite of not playing much for us, I still think he could be important for us.”
“The offer we have received we feel is the right offer for the quality of player.”
Mourinho is also convinced that selling Mata to a direct rival does not worry him.
‘We hope Juan does well. We are convinced he will do well. No fears for us. We all wish him well.’
