TEXAS (Sporting Alert) — Myck Kabongo knocked down an acrobatic buzzer beating shot for the Texas Longhorns to force overtime against Oklahoma and then beat them 92-86 in college basketball action on Wednesday night.
Down 22 and looked well out of it, Texas (13-15, 5-10 Big 12) made a stunning run in the second half to force the game into overtime with Kabongo hitting the almost impossible shot.
The speedy Sophomore guard finished with a career-high 31 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals in the win for the Longhorns.
Sheldon McClellan added 18 points and eight rebounds and Demarcus Holland contributed 10 points in the win.
Senior forward Romero Osby paced the Oklahoma Sooners (18-9, 9-6) with 31 points, while Steven Pledger finished with 18 and junior forward Amath M’Baye added 16 points in the defeat.
Oklahoma led 43-28 at half-time, but were outscored 49-34 in the second half.
In overtime, Texas scored 15 points to the Sooners’ 9 to come away with the victory at the Frank Erwin Special Events Center.
