Nash could make Lakers return Saturday – Reports

LOS ANGELES (Sporting Alert) — The Los Angeles Lakers have penciled in Christmas Day as the possible return date for point guard Steve Nash, but reports are claiming the veteran could return before this time.

Nash, who has been out with a leg injury since October, was back in full training with his Lakers teammates on Monday after stepping up on his running and shooting sessions in the last few weeks.

The experienced guard said he wouldn’t rush things at this point in his career, but admits to feeling much better and is looking forward to playing again.

Nash was hoping to step back on the court against the New York Knicks on Christmas Day next Tuesday.

“(My leg has) responded pretty well,” he revealed on “I’ve been able to do some jogging, some running, some 1-on-1.”

He added: “Hopefully I can play by Christmas. We’ll see how it responds this week.”

Now it is being reported that Nash could be back in action as early as Saturday.
