LOS ANGELES (Sporting Alert) — Los Angeles Lakers point guard is still uncertain about whether he will play on Saturday.

Nash, who is recovering from a leg injury, participated in his first full session with his Lakers teammates on Thursday and admits that he was feeling much better.

The veteran point guard has been tipped to play this weekend against Golden State, but he said he hasn’t made up his mind about that just yet, adding that he could be wise to give himself a few more days to recover.

“I just want to see how I feel Saturday,” Nash said. “I think Christmas is probably the most realistic.”

He noted that at this point in his career he has enough experience to know when he needs to be more careful about rushy back from an injury.

“The tendency is to rush back, but at the same time, you have to be careful,” he said on Lakers.com. “I don’t want to rush back, play two games and then be out for an extended period of time.”

Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni also believes that Christmas Day is the likely target for Nash’s return.
