LOS ANGLES (Sporting Alert) — Steve Nash could return to the Los Angeles Lakers rotation on Saturday after he participated in the full team practice on Thursday.

Nash, who fractured his left fibula earlier this year, had lifted the intensity in his training in the last few or so weeks and on Monday took part in his first full team session, although things were light.

Watched by head coach Mike D’Antoni, Nash went through a scrimmaging session with his teammates today and he had no further complaint about his injury.

D’Antoni said on Lakers.com that he was “very excited” about what he saw from Nash, but would not commit to when the veteran guard would return.

The 38-year-old, however, said he was feeling “pretty good,” after being on the sidelines for such a long time, but added that he wants to see how things go on Friday before saying whether or not he plays Saturday.

The Lakers recently got back the service of star forward Pau Gasol.

After missing eight straight games, Gasol returned to help the Lakers edged past the Charlotte Bobcats.

Gasol was delighted to see his Lakers teammate Nash back in regular practice.

He said on Lakers.com: “Today we’ve had a very good team practice! I’m very glad to have the great @SteveNash back on the court with us!
