After losing Game 1 in the match-up, LeBron James and the Heat returned the favor in a crushing win Sunday night and want to build on this.
A victory at the AT&T Center won’t come very easy for the defending champions, but James doesn’t believe it is impossible.
“It doesn’t matter,” he said. “Two best teams in the NBA at this point.
“Both teams have won and can win on each other’s floor. So it’s not a biggie.”
James shock off a first half struggle to collect 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in Game 2 to even the series at 1-1.
Speaking of struggling, San Antonio’s Tim Duncan was held for a nine points, on 3-of-13 shooting from the field before sitting out the fourth quarter in the defeat and veteran forward admits the Spurs were happy to leave Miami with a win, especially after Game two’s pounding.
“We were glad to win a game here in Game 1,” Duncan said. “Our goal was to get two. But they got the one (Sunday night).
“We get to go back home. We got a game here. We have three at home, so we’re excited about that.
“But if we play like we did (the last game), that’s not going to matter.”
Spurs’ All-Star points guard backs his team to win the series, but warned they must play better at home.
“We have to play better. Definitely have to play better,” Parker said. “You know, we’re playing the defending champs.
“They’re a great team. We knew they were going to come in and play with a lot more energy and play harder. That’s what they did tonight.
“So it’s always easy to bounce back after a loss, and now it’s our turn to see how we’re going to handle our loss and how we’re going to respond.”
