DETROIT ——The Detroit Pistons beat the Dallas Mavericks 131-125 in overtime in the latest NBA scores on Thursday night. Killian Hayes scored eight of 22 points in OT play to help the Pistons recover from blowing a late lead to eventually secure the win against Dallas.
Detriot (6-18) lead by one point at halftime but entered the fourth quarter leading 99-89 and 113-104 with 3:37 left in the game. But the Mavericks (10-11) used an 8-0 run to tie the game at 117 all and forced overtime play. Read more: Detroit Pistons lead Dallas Mavericks 61-60 – halftime score

Hayes then scored eight points in the extra minutes, including back-to-back 3-pointers to put the Pistons in front by six points for good after Christian Wood’s dunk tied the game at 125 with 1:35 left in the overtime period. Hayes finished 10 of 13 shooting from the field while dishing eight assists.
Bojan Bogdanovic led Detriot with 30 points on 10 of 14 shooting with five 3-points, while Marvin Bagley III added 19 points and 13 rebounds.
“Bogey had his European basketball pride at stake tonight, playing against Luka (Doncic), and he did what he does,” Pistons coach Dwane Casey said. “I’m sure Luka grew up watching Bogey, so they both wanted to have big games tonight.”
Jaden Ivey ended with 16 points and six assists for the Pistons who shot 54.3% from the field and made 15 shots from 3-pointers while outrebounding the visitors 52-30.
“I’m disappointed with the effort we gave on the defensive end,” said Mavericks coach Jason Kidd. “That’s something we will talk about tomorrow.”
Luka Doncic scored 20 of his 35 points in the first half while adding 10 assists and made 7 of 14 from 3-point range for Dallas. Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 26 points and hit six 3-pointers, while Wood ended with 25 points on 10 of 13 shooting to go with eight rebounds in the defeat.
