Chris Paul had 30 points and 12 assists – picking up for Blake Griffin, who left the game with back spasms in the first quarter, and the Los Angeles Clippers rallied to beat the Houston Rockets 118-107 and clinch a playoff berth on Saturday night.

Jamal Crawford added 22 points and  DeAndre Jordan contributed 20 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks for the LA Clippers (52-22), who secured a play-offs place for a franchise-record third straight season.

Also on the night, the Philadelphia 76ers (16-57) finally stopped their losing streak after they defeated the Detroit Pistons 123-98 and ending a 26-game slide, which also saw them avoid setting a record for the longest losing run in U.S. major pro sports history.

San Antonio Spurs (57-16), leaders of the overall NBA standings with their record, beat the New Orleans Pelicans (32-41), 96-80 to tie a franchise-record with 17th successive win.

Elsewhere, two-time defending champions Miami Heat (50-22) beat the Milwaukee Bucks (14-59), 88-67, while the Dallas Mavericks (44-30) scored a 103-100 victory over the Sacramento Kings (25-48).
