(Sporting Alert) — NCAA 25 college men’s basketball scores and results, following the list of games that took place on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

The night saw five top ten teams in action, with two of the five losing to teams ranked lower than them, but were both in the top ten as well.

At the Jack Breslin Student Events Center in Michigan, No. 5 Michigan State dealt No. 3 Ohio State its first defeat of the season with a 72-68 overtime victory as Keith Appling, who scored 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds, led the way for the Spartans.

Forward Sam Thompson led the Buckeyes with 18 points and eight rebounds, while star guard Aaron Craft was held to just 3 of 8 from the field for nine points.

Elsewhere, No. 7 Baylor (12-2) was beaten 87-72 by No. 9 Iowa State (14-0),  which remain undefeated on the season with senior point guard DeAndre Kane finishing with a season-high 30 points with nine assists, eight rebounds and five steals in the victory for the Cyclones.

In other results and scores, No. 2 Syracuse (15-0) stayed undefeated with a 72-52 win over Virginia Tech (8-6) and No. 16 Duke (12-3) rebounded from its last defeat to beat Georgia Tech (9-6), 79-57.
