NCAA College Football Results on Sunday, Nov. 4

(Sporting Alert) — T.J. Yeldon scored a 28 yard touchdown with 51 seconds left in the game as No. 1 Alabama defeated arch rivals and No. 5 LSU 21-17 in a lively college football game on Saturday.

The win saw Alabama remain undefeated, while LSU, the beaten team when these two met in the championships game last year, was handed their second defeat of the season.

Trailing 17-14 with game quickly ending, Alabama found away to counteract every single one of Les Miles’ trick plays to come away with the battling victory at Tiger Stadium.

Receiving the ball with the seconds ticking over, freshman running back Yeldon skipped a tackle and then faked his way past more to race to the end zone for the decisive winning score, a play that please Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban.

”I’m really, really pleased with that last drive,” the coach said. ”That’s something I’ll never forget.”

Winning quarterback A.J. McCarron, who had 14 of 27 completed passes for 165 yards, was also delighted about the winning play.

”There’s just so many emotions running through me,” McCarron said. ”Sometimes it can be a lot of pressure playing here at this university, especially with all the tradition of winning and everything.

“Just coming back and winning a game like that, and like coach Saban said, it might be known as ‘The Drive’ for the history of Alabama. And just to be a part of it with my teammates was just truly a blessing.”

Meanwhile, after seeing several of his calls failed to come to anything positive against Alabama, LSU coach Miles admits: ”I wish I had a couple of my calls back.

”That’s the way it goes.”

In another results on Saturday, No. 2 Kansas State rolled past Oklahoma State 44-30, despite losing star quarterback Colin Klein. No. 4 Oregon and No. 17 USC battled for a long time before the Ducks managed to come away with a comfortable 62-51 victory.

However, No. 3 Notre Dame needed triple overtime action to see off the unranked Pittsburgh in a close 29-26 win – a performance that could see them slip in the rankings.
