NORMAN, Okla. (Sporting Alert) — The Oklahoma Sooners, destroyed fierce rivals Texas Longhorns, while top ranked Alabama cruised past Missouri Tigers in a busy Saturday of college football yesterday.

The No. 13 Sooners jumped out to huge lead and just kept building on it here in Norman before going on to win 63-21 in the battle of the Big 12 giants.

With the victory, Oklahoma picked up its third straight in Red River Rivalry, a win that will almost certainly boost their number when the rankings come out on Sunday.

Meanwhile, No. 1 Alabama continued their undefeated run with a 42-10 victory over Missouri with running backs T.J. Yeldon and Eddie Lacy combining for 321 yards and five touchdowns.

It wasn’t the same luck, however, for No. 5 West Virginia and No. 3 South Carolina – which both suffered defeats.

West Virginia chances of improving in the rankings were dented, following a 49-14 defeat to Texas Tech, while No. 9 LSU battled to a comeback 23-21 victory over South Carolina – on a night when freshman running back Jeremy Hill came up big for the hosts with 124 yards and two important touchdowns.

Elsewhere, No. 6 Kansas State beat Iowa State 27-21, No. 10 Oregon State defeated BYU 42-24, Florida Gators ran past Vanderbilt 31-17, while Ohio State held off a determined Indiana, 52-49.
