(Sporting Alert) — NCAA top 25 men’s basketball scores from the college games that took place on Thursday night, Feb. 6.
The No. 2 Arizona Wildcats (22-1) battled to a 67-65 victory over the Oregon Ducks (15-7) at McKale Center in Tucson.
Nick Johnson scored 18 points and five assists and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson added 14 points and 10 rebounds, as Arizona responded from last Saturday’s 60-58 defeat to California, with a win.
Also getting into double figures was Kaleb Tarczewski, who scored 12 points and pulled down seven boards in the win.
“Tonight’s game is a real tribute to the team that we have in that it took a lot of resiliency on our part, a lot of belief and toughness because things weren’t going our way,” said Arizona coach Sean Miller.
Joseph Young and Jason Calliste each scored 14 points, while Damyean Dotson contributed 12 for the Ducks, who battle all the way in the loss.
Defeated Oregon coach Dana Altman said his players are hurting for once again coming up short.
“They’re hurting,” Altman said. “This is their third two-point loss. I just told them we’ve got to be resilient.
“It hurts having an opportunity and not being able to finish.”
