LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Barcelona forward Neymar and Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva headline Luiz Felipe Scolari’s 23-man Brazil squad announced for the 2014 FIFA World Cup on home soil.
The squad sees Scolari naming a mixture of youth and experienced players, but there was no place for AC Milan midfielder Kaka, who was hoping to win a place in the team.
In the World Cup squad also are veteran defender Maicon of Roma, David Luiz, Willian, Ramires and Paulinho, who all play in the English Premier League, as well as Fluminense veteran striker Fred.
Despite playing in the U.S. with Major League Soccer team Toronto FC, first choice goalkeeper of Julio Cesar has been named in the team.
