UPDATED: NFL Week 11 Scores and Results – Nov. 17

NEW YORK (Sporting Alert) — The following are the scores and results from the NFL games that took place in Week 11 on Sunday, Nov. 16 and Monday, Nov. 17.

UPDATED MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

In Monday Night Football, Ben Roethlisberger completed 21 of 32 passes and threw for 207 yards and a touchdown, while Le’Veon Bell had 33 carries for 204 yards and the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-4) beat the Tennessee Titans (2-8) by a score of 27-24.

The Steelers were rebounding from the 20-13 defeat to the New York Jets the previous week.

“Not a perfect night, but really a great night for us in that we were down by 11 and we had an opportunity to bounce back,” Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said.

“And I think anytime you can do that and gain victory, you grow from it and grow from it in the right ways.”

Zach Mettenberger threw for 263 yards and two touchdowns in the defeat for the Titans, who were dropping their fourth straight.

Tennessee got off to a slow start before erasing a 10-0 deficit and then took a 24-20 lead in the fourth quarter.

But with 9:01 remaining the Steelers scored when Roethlisberger found Antonio Brown with a 12 yard pass and then Tomlin’s team held on for the win.

“We feel very close,” Mettenberger told reporters after the game. “We’re not doing enough to win football games.

“That’s the bottom line and the most important thing. But rookie running back, rookie left tackle, rookie quarterback, rookie middle linebacker. We’re doing a lot of good things.”

CARDINALS WIN AGAIN

The on form Arizona Cardinals (9-1) continued their impressive run this season with another victory after beating Detroit Lions (7-3).

Drew Stanton, taking over Carson Palmer, who is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, distributed 21 of 32 passes and threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns and the Cardinals secured a 14-6 win over the Lions to stay a perfect 6-0 at the U of Phoenix Stadium this season.

Michael Floyd had two catches for 54 yards and two touchdowns for Arizona, who have now won sixth games in a row and improved to 9-1 for the first time since the 1948 season, when they were the Chicago Cardinals and got Their 9th win of that season against the Lions.

The Cardinals have also won six straight for the first time since 1977.

RAMS STUNNED BRONCOS, MANNING SLOWED DOWN

One of the shocking results on the day saw the St Louis Rams taking down Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos 22-7.

The Rams’ (4-6) quarterback Shaun Hill went 20 of 29 completed passes for 220 yards and a touchdown, while rookie running back Tre Mason had 29 carries for 113 yards in the victory.

Manning meanwhile went 34 of 54 for 389 yards and one touchdown for Denver (7-3), but he was also picked off two times in the defeat.

The veteran’s lone touchdown pass was a 42-yard to Emmanuel Sanders in the first half and he admitted to having an unproductive outing.

“We didn’t execute very well and I just think I didn’t play very well,” Manning said, before adding, “No excuses.

“I have to play better and we have to score more points than seven.”

The defeat suffered by Denver paved the way for the Kansas Chiefs to move into tie for 1st place in the AFC West after beating the Seattle Seahawks 24-20, with Jamaal Charles rushing for 159 yards and two touchdowns.

“He’s a special player,” Kansas City coach Andy Reid said about Charles.

In the defeat, quarterback Russell Wilson was 20 of 32 completed passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions for Seattle (6-4), while running back Marshawn Lynch finished with 124 yards rushing.

Also on the day, Eli Manning threw for 280 yards and a touchdown, but also threw five interceptions in the New York Giants’ (3-7) 16-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers (6-4) at MetLife Stadium.

“I have to make better throws,” Manning said. “It’s no one else’s fault. I’ve got to protect the ball and not turn it over.

“I turned it over close a couple of times and that can’t happen.”

San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters after the game: “It was a spectacular performance by our defense today.

“So many guys stepped up and played great, living in the moment and competing like the dickens and making tremendous and athletic football plays.”

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers (7-3) beat the Philadelphia Eagles (7-3) 53-20 to go past the 50 point mark for the second straight week. Aaron Rodgers threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns and went 22 of 36 completed passes for Green Bay.

“We felt strongly that this game was going to come down to big plays, the big-play opportunities and I thought our players did an excellent job in all three phases,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said.

The Oakland Raiders (0-10) have now dropped ten straight this season after losing 13-6 to the San Diego Chargers (6-4). The Chargers were ending a three game losing streak.
