(Sporting Alert) — Nigeria beat Sweden 3-0 in their FIFA U-17 World Cup semi-final clash at Rashid Stadium on Tuesday in Dubai to book their place in Friday’s final against defending champions Mexico.
Taiwo Awoniyi, Samuel Okon and Chidera Ezeh provided the goals for the Super Eagles.
The Nigerians got huge support in Dubai, and the Africans used it to their advantage on their way to setting up what is expected to be an entertaining rematch.
Awoniyi got the opener and his third goal in two games in the 21st minute and then Okon and Ezeh scored late second half goals to seal the game and eased the late tensions.
Nigeria will now face the defending champions Mexico in a Group F rematch.
Mexico had defeated Argentina 3-0 in the first semis.
