MIAMI, FL, Sporting Alert – Updated NFL scores from the games that were played in Week 15 on Sunday 20 December. Panthers improved to 14-0.

PANTHERS 38, GIANTS 35

Graham Gano kicked a 43-yard field goal as time expired and the Carolina Panthers stayed undefeated this season with a thrilling 38-35 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday.

Cam Newton passed for 340 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 100 more yards on eight carries for the Panthers (14-0) who secured their 18th straight regular-season victory.

Ted Ginn Jr. has six catches for 85 yards and two touchdowns, while Greg Olsen, Corey Brown and Devin Funchess each caught a pass for a touchdown for Carolina, which build a 28-point lead before the Giants roared back to tie the game at 35-35 with 1:46 remaining.

Eli Manning passed for 245 yards and four touchdowns, with Rashad Jennings rushing 16 times for 107 yards and a score in the defeat for New York (6-8).

CHIEFS 34, RAVENS 14

Alex Smith went 21 of 25 on completed passes for 171 yards and a touchdown, and the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens 34-14 and extended its winning streak to eight games in NFL action on Sunday.

Tyvon Branch returned a fumble 73 yards for a touchdown and Marcus Peters had two interceptions, including a 90-yard return for a score late in the fourth quarter to help the Chiefs (9-5) strengthened their drive for a playoff place.

According to the stats gurus, the Kansas City Chiefs became the first NFL team to follow a five-game skid with eight successive wins in the same campaign.

The defeat on Sunday saw the Ravens falling to 4-10 on the season, while suffering their fifth defeat at home for the first time in the term.

Jimmy Clausen threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns, but also had two interceptions for Baltimore.

SEAHAWKS 30, BROWNS 13

Russell Wilson completed 21 of 30 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns, including two TD strikes to Doug Baldwin, and the Seattle Seahawks eased to a 30-13 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Wilson also ran five times for 46 yards.

With the win this weekend, the Seahawks (9-5), who many believe are the team best positioned to win the Super Bowl this year — and not the undefeated Panthers — clinched a playoff spot in the NFC WEST, while winning five successive games.

Doug Baldwin caught two balls for touchdowns to take his tally on the term to 13 TD receptions, which matched Daryl Turner’s club record set in 1985.

Jermaine Kearse had seven catches for 110 yards for Seattle.

Meanwhile, for the Browns (3-11), Johnny Manziel passed for 161 yards and threw a touchdown pass to Gary Barnidge in the defeat.

Cleveland has now dropped eight of its last nine games.
