Chelsea picked up a 4-2 victory in their opening game of the preseason against the Seattle Sounders in midweek and will welcome back several key players for Sunday’s game.

Amongst the impressive players on the Wednesday night were new summer signings Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, who both hit the back of the net and they are hoping to continue their fine form on the tour.

The game will also see Paris St-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti facing his former club and several players, including midfielder Frank Lampard is looking forward to the reunion.

“Everyone at Chelsea has a lot of respect for Carlo,” Lampard said on Chelsea official website at

“He was an amazing manager and an amazing person, and it will be nice to meet up with him, as it will Paul Clement who was well liked by the lads, and Nick Broad the nutritionist and Claude Makelele as well.

“Carlo winning the Double in his first season at Chelsea was amazing but I remember him as the man as much as anything because of how personable he was.

“You could talk to him on a normal level and even the day he left the club he had a couple of beers with some of the lads. He was just a gentleman through and through so I have very fond memories of his time here.”

Brazilian central defender Alex, who worked with Ancelotti at Chelsea before moving to PSG, will also be facing the Stamford Bridge side for the first time since the break up.

“Alex was a great player and another great lad,” said Lampard.

“He was a fantastic defender and you won’t find a person at Chelsea who has a bad word to say about him. He was a fantastic pro and trained very hard and he was a really nice man.

“When he arrived he didn’t speak the language much but he made friends because he was a gentle giant.”

Meanwhile, PSG has been loading up the stars this season, but will be without several signings for the game.

Ancelotti will be without the recently acquired Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic from AC Milan, who have not arrived as yet.

Ibrahimovic will arrive on Tuesday, while Silva is with Brazil’s Olympic team, while Mohamed Sissoko is still rehabbing an inflamed knee.

However, Marco Verratti, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Alex and Javier Pastore are available and will be ready to show their talents.
