(Sporting Alert) — Pep Guardiola is back in Barcelona and currently at the Nuevo Jose Zorilla Stadium to see his former club take on Real Valladolid in its final game before the winter break.
Guardiola, who was linked with a move back to FC Barcelona to serve has cover for his former right-hand man Tito Vilanova, who recently underwent throat surgery and is out for at least six weeks – is back in Spain spending the Christmas holiday with his family.
The Spaniard reportedly entered the Nuevo Jose Zorilla Stadium secretly so as to keep the media off him, with one media reporting that he used a hat to cover his face in an attempt to limit supporters from identifying him easily.
Guardiola, who went on a year-long sabbatical in New York in his attempt to recharge his batteries from management, is one of the most sort after managers, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and AC Milan all said to be interested in having him.
In fact, Chelsea apparently went to get him when Roberto di Matteo was sacked, but the Spanish coach made it clear that he had no intentions of cutting short his time from football management.
