(Sporting Alert) — Mexico face Peru in a friendly football international at Estadio Nacional Jose Diaz without several stars, but still managed to field a strong lineup for the fixture.
Missing, however, from the starting lineup is leading scorer and forward Javier Hernandez, who featured for Manchester United in the Barclays Premier League 2-2 draw at West Ham earlier today.
With Chicharito out, Raúl Jiménez leads the attack and he is expected to get help from the likes of Pablo Barrera, Gerardo Torrado, Angel Martinez, Rafael Marquez Lugo and Carlos Rodríguez, who all start in midfield tonight.
The back line includes Gerardo Flores and Hugo Ayala, while Jose de Jesus Corona starts in goal, with Alfredo Talavera on the substitutes’ bench.
Amongst the substitutes for Mexico are Omar Bravo, Diego Reyes and Hector Herrera Rubio.
Meanwhile, Luis Garcia is amongst the subs for Peru tonight, with Michael Guevara and Yordy Reyna both starting.
