Paul is dealing with his heel injury that has kept him out of action since early November. He has yet to be given an official timeline for a return, but for as long as he is out, Cameron Payne will remain the starting point guard in Phoenix. Payne will start at the point guard position again and plays alongside top scorer and leading shooting guard Devin Booker with Mikal Bridges, Dario Saric and Deandre Ayton also starting.
The San Antonio Spurs, who are without coach Gregg Popovich, have lost 10 straight, matching the franchise’s second-longest losing streak set in 1987. The Spurs’ longest skid was 13 straight in 1989.
