Photos of players and football fans paying support to Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba, who collapsed on the pitch during at the weekend.
The incident happened during a FA Cup game between Bolton and Tottenham. Muamba fell to pitch – far away from the football action – and the game was delayed for several minutes.
Following discussions with both Bolton boss Owen Coyle and Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp, referee Howard Webb called the game off to focus the attention on getting the player those around him all the help needed.
And putting football aside, several fans, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, England and Tottonham forward Jermain Defoe and Chelsea’s Gary Cahill all offered their support to the young and talented England midfielder.
There were also signed T-shirts and cards in support for Muamba, who was said to be still in critical condition at the hospital.
