Tiger Woods/Matt Kuchar/Brandt Snedeker — Kuchar is the defending champ, while Woods and Snedeker haven’t fared as well in this event in recent years. Watch this group live in Friday’s second round at 8:39 a.m. ET on PGATOUR.COM’s Follow A Group feature

Phil Mickelson/Webb Simpson/Justin Rose — Wonder if last year’s Ryder Cup singles match, with Rose beating Mickelson, will come up in conversation?

Adam Scott/Rory McIlroy/Steve Stricker –Scott has made his first start since winning the Masters. Only one player has ever won the Masters and THE PLAYERS in the same year (Tiger Woods, 2001). Watch this group live in Thursday’s first round at 8:39 a.m. ET on PGATOUR.COM’s Follow A Group feature

Ian Poulter/Nick Watney/Lee Westwood — Did you catch Poulter’s cover photo on Sports Illustrated’s special PLAYERS Championship preview? Very dapper.

Sergio Garcia/Luke Donald/K.J. Choi — Choi and Garcia are previous winners of THE PLAYERS; Donald has finished sixth or better last two years. Watch this group live in Thursday’s first round at 1:39 p.m. ET on PGATOUR.COM’s Follow A Group feature

Rickie Fowler/Hunter Mahan/Jim Furyk — Furyk and Fowler ran into each other at a local sushi/Thai restaurant on Monday evening. Coincidence?

Billy Horschel/Dustin Johnson/Ernie Els — Horschel lives in the area, but that hasn’t always been a big advantage at this tournament. Watch this group live in Friday’s second round at 1:39 p.m. ET on PGATOUR.COM’s Follow A Group feature

Graeme McDowell/Keegan Bradley/Bubba Watson — McDowell won three weeks ago in Hilton Head, while the two Americans are still trying to find the winner’s circle in 2013.
