Premier League Points Standings, Fixtures For April 2

LONDON, Sporting Alert – The English Premier League points standings ahead of this weekend’s fixtures on April 2-3.

Surprised leaders Leicester City will not be in action until Sunday when they take on Southampton, and the Foxes have a five point lead over Tottenham.

Leicester City are sitting on 66 points after 31 games, while Tottenham are next with 61 points.

Spurs could trim this gap to just two points before the leaders play again.

The London club will face-off with Liverpool on Saturday and three points there would put some pressure on Leicester City before they kick-off a day later.

Arsenal are third with 55 points, 11 behind the leaders and Arsene Wenger’s side will look to get closer to top sides in addition to keep fending off those below them in the points standings, with a victory over Watford on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the top 10 teams in the points standings are Manchester City in 4th place, West Ham United in 5th, Manchester United, 6th, Southampton, 7th, Stoke City, 8th, Liverpool, 9th and Chelsea, 10th.

At the bottom of the standings, Sunderland, Newcastle United and Aston Villa continue to fight the relegation battle and they will need to start picking up big points very quickly.

For Aston Villa, it start against Chelsea in the early kick-off at Villa Park.
