LONDON, Sporting Alert – Latest transfer news, which involved English Premier League teams, according to the paper roundups in the UK on Tuesday, July 12.
There are a lot of back page stories from the Telegraph, Guardian, Mirror, Star and The Sun, linking several European star players with moves to the Premier League.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea, who are all title chasers, lead the list of clubs heavily linked to top players around Europe, while the likes of Everton and West Ham are also in the news.
Manchester United Targeting Two Big Name Midfielders
Sky Sports is continuing to report that central midfielders Paul Pogba and Toni Kroos are strong targets for Jose Mourinho, as the Portuguese look to shape his squad for the coming season. Pogba is the first choice of Mourinho, but it understood the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager is also interested in Kroos, who almost became a United player before Louis van Gaal apparently pulled the plug on the deal.
Liverpool Are Being Linked With Newcastle Star
Jurgen Klopp is looking to tap up his squad for the coming Premier League season and according to Sky Sports, France midfielder Moussa Sissoko is a strong target for the German. Newcastle United would rather keep the player, but wouldn’t turn away a good offer.
This is why the Championships club has placed a £35m price tag on his head, which hasn’t bothered Sissoko, who apparently still wants to leave in the summer.
“Newcastle would ask for £35m? It could be 20 – for me it changes nothing,” he told L’Equipe. “The interested clubs will know how to find common ground. I hope that it will be as early as possible.”
