Chelsea FC picked up the biggest win in the league on the day, following their 4-0 victory over Stoke City, who gifted the Rafa Benitez side two own goals after Jonathan Walters beat his own goalkeeper twice in the game and then missed a late penalty kick, which would have completed a very laughable hat-trick.

John Terry made his return from injury off the bench, while Frank Lampard and Eden Hazard scored the two other goals for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Sunderland, with goals from Sebastian Larsson, Adam Johnson and James McClean dismissed West Ham United 3-0, while Reading scored a very interesting 3-2 victory over West Bromwich.

In other football scores in the EPL, Rickie Lambert netted from the penalty spot in the 34th minute and that was good enough for Southampton to beat Aston Villa 1-0.

Franco Di Santo netted a 71st minute equaliser for Wigan to earn a 1-1 draw at Fulham, who had taken the lead through Giorgios Karagounis in the 22nd minute of the game.

In other results, Norwich vs Newcastle, QPR vs Tottenham and Everton vs Swansea City, all ended 0-0.

The EPL continues on Sunday with super action between Manchester United against Liverpool and Manchester City against Arsenal.
