PARIS, Sporting Alert – The starting lineups for the Champions League round of 16 matchup between Paris St Germain and Chelsea at Parc des Princes on Tuesday.
After being rested at the weekend in the league, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marco Verratti and Lucas Moura all returned to the starting XI for PSG to face Chelsea in this battle.
Ibrahimovic will lead the attack for the hosting club, while Moura and Angel di Maria will play on either side of the Swede in supporting roles.
Former Chelsea defender David Luiz is also a member of the starting lineup for Paris St Germain and the Brazilian will join fellow countryman and captain Thiago Silva in the heart of the defence.
Marquinhos and Maxwell also play in the back with Verratti playing alongside Thiago Motta and Blaise Matuidi in midfield.
Among those on the bench for PSG today to face Chelsea is striker Edinson Cavani, who has been heavily linked with a move to the English Premier League and to Manchester United.
Meanwhile, for Chelsea, Baba Rahman comes into the starting lineup at full-back for the injured John Terry, who did not travel with the squad to Paris.
Rahman will join Branislav Ivanovic, who moves central in defence to partner Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta in the back four.
Returning to the starting lineup for the English Premier League club is John Obi Mikel, who comes in for the suspended Nemanja Matic.
Diego Costa, who has been in very good form since Guss Hiddink took over from Jose Mourinho as the Chelsea interim boss, will lead the attacking line for the Blues.
Costa will be hoping to start scoring goals in Europe, as according to Opta Stat, the Brazilian-born Span international has just one goal in his last 14 Champions League games.
