Marcus Rashford scores for Manchester United against Nottingham Forest

MANCHESTER (December 27) —— Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Fred scored for Manchester United in a dominating 3-0 win for the home side against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Tuesday (27). With the win today, United stayed in fifth place in the Premier League table standings, but moved to within one point of fourth-place Tottenham with a game in hand.

Forward Rashford continued his fine goalscoring form since the World Cup when he scored the game’s opener today –sweeping home a well-worked corner routine from Christian Eriksen to put Manchester United ahead in the 19th minute. Rashford, who also scored in last week’s league cup win over Burnley, netted three goals at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022.

After scoring his goal here on Tuesday, Rashford turned provider as he set up Anthony Martial for the Red Devils’ second goal. A great build-up play that also involved Casemiro, ended in Rashford finding Martial to fire in a shot which Forest keeper Wayne Hennessey will be disappointed about not stopping. Brazilian hard-working midfielder Fred netted a late third goal for Manchester United to seal a well-deserved win today in the rain.

Meanwhile, since losing 6-3 in the Manchester derby, Erik Ten Hag’s side has lost just once in eight league matches. There is no more Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford and there seem to be some evident signs of a revival.
