MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Real Madrid FC are reportedly pushing for a move for Tottenham exciting winger Gareth Bale and the manager of the English Premier League side, Andre Villas-Boas, is refusing to comment on the subject.

Bale, who had an outstanding season with Tottenham this past term, has attracted a number of interests from several top clubs in Europe, including Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid.

Recently former Real Madrid star Zinedine Zidane, a World Cup winner with France, revealed that Real Madrid are interested in signing the Wales international who he believes would be an instant impact at Bernabeu.

“I’ve been watching Tottenham for the reason that Gareth Bale has been playing there,” Zidane said.

“Aside from Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, he is the player who has impressed me the most. All of the talented players like that can come to Real Madrid. Is he good enough for Real Madrid?

“Of course. He is more than good enough to play for Real Madrid.

“What has particularly impressed me is that he is consistent. He is consistently scoring spectacular goals and very important goals. He is very quick, skillful and exciting.”

Those comments have led to several speculations about Bale’s future with the EPL side, but Spurs manager Villas-Boas is refusing to talk about transfers.

“I don’t want to say anything, really, you have to understand, I’m here to relax and it’s the first day of my holiday,” the manager said on Marca.com.

“I don’t want to make any comment, I’m very sorry.”

It is believed that Real Madrid, after missing out at signing Brazilian international and long-time target Neymar, is determined to land Bale, who has also been linked to EPL sides Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.

There are many who also believe that Bale and Ronaldo might not work as a good combination.

Bale scored 21 goals for Tottenham this season and almost led them into the Champions League for next season.
