Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford

MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is at Old Trafford watching Manchester United ahead their Champions League clash in midweek.

With Real Madrid playing on Saturday, Mourinho took the chance to fly to Manchester to take a closer look at Sir Alex Ferguson’s side before the clash.

Manchester United will travel to Spain to take on the defending La Liga champions Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League round of last 16 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night.

Mourinho knows all about Ferguson and Manchester United, having battled with the two during his time coaching Premier League football at Chelsea.

However, the Red Devils have made several adjustments to the side this season and the Portugal coach is keen on seeing the Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie led side.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid warmed up for the clash with a spanking 4-1 win over Sevilla on Saturday with the former Manchester United star blasting home a hat-trick in the victory.

Man United are taking on Everton at Old Trafford today with the hope of beating David Moyes’ side and go 12 points clear in the Premier League football standings over Manchester City, who were beaten at Southampton on Saturday.
