Locked evidently in the most challenging group of the European tournament, both managers will be hoping to avoid any slip ups in the first game.

Meanwhile, despite a shocking defeat in the league over the weekend, manager Jose Mourinho says he will not be making too many changes to that starting side.

“There won’t be many changes from the side at Sevilla and it will not be a line-up which aims at singling out any player who, in my opinion, might not be in the right frame of mind,” the boss said.

“It is the line-up which I think is the best to try to win a tough match against opponents which have players of the highest order. I have thought long and hard about the starting eleven.

“I have been giving it plenty of thought for the past two days.”

English Premier League champions Manchester City welcome back forward Sergio Aguero, who travelled with the team to Madrid.

Aguero has spent a month out with a knee injury, but was named in the squad by manager Roberto Mancini.

The team also includes Carlos Tevez, Yaya Toure, Mario Balotelli and David Silva.

Real Madrid, in the meantime, will be looking to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos, Xabi Alonso and Mesut Ozil to lead the way.
