Real Madrid star Ronaldo tops Champions League scoring

MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo moved to the top of Champions League 2012-13 goalscoring¬†list, following his goal against Manchester United on Wednesday night.

Ronaldo’s header past goalkeeper David De Gea in goal for the English Premier League outfit Wednesday took him to seven goals in as many UEFA Champions League games this season.

Real Madrid and Manchester United finished their last-16 first leg clash 1-1 in Madrid.

Notably and to the surprise of none, Ronaldo has scored against every opponent that Real Madrid have faced so far in this year’s Champions League.

The speedy attacker scored six goals in the tough Group Stage.

Ronaldo, a former Manchester United star, scored four goals against Ajax and one each against both Dortmund and Manchester City.

Galatasaray forward Burak Yilmaz is next on the goalscoring list with six goals – playing in six games as well, while there are five others on five goals.

Chelsea midfielder Oscar (already eliminated), Lionel Messi (Barcelona) Braga of Alan (already eliminated) and Robert Lewandowsk (Dortmund) all scored five goals.
