Reports: Guardiola wants Real Madrid midfielder Ozil at Munich

MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Pep Guardiola is reportedly looking to freshen up his Bayern Munich squad in the summer when he officially takes over as the new manager of the German outfit.

It was announced that the former FC Barcelona manager will be the Bayern Munich new boss at the end of the current season and it is believed that Real Madrid playmaker Mesut Ozil is one of his main targets.

Ozil has been unsettled at Real Madrid, El Mundo Deportivo reports, and in recent times, has been linked with a move away from the Spanish giants.

It is understood that Guardiola is a keen admirer of the German international and has placed him high on his summer target list.

The Spanish coach has come up against the 24-year-old several times in Barcelona vs Real Madrid matches in both La Liga and cup games, and he certainly likes what he saw.

Reports are also saying that Ozil would welcome the opportunity to work with Guardiola as he seek to return to his native Germany and play in the Bundesliga.

Ozil signed with Real Madrid in 2010 from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.
