MILAN (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United are reportedly ready to take another stab at signing Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder from Inter Milan this summer.
Sneijder, who by his own admissions, thought he would have been a Manchester United player last summer, has long been a target of the Barclays Premier League side.
It is believed that Sir Alex Ferguson is still disappointed at missing out on the capture of Lille playmaker Eden Hazard, who will be joining Chelsea – and the United boss is reportedly rethinking about Sneijder again.
The football in Italy have been under fire recently with several players and officials being investigated for match-fixing, which has led to several players becoming uneasy with suggestions that the football in the country should be banned for two to three years.
This could very well trigger a move for Sneijder, who had a very difficult season last term – mainly because of injuries.
The attacking midfielder has constantly voiced his intentions to remain with Inter Milan, but according to reports, he still has his sights set on playing in England with Manchester United still being his top choice, should be ever decides to move.
